How to Save Oregon City

There are three very important things we can do to stop Molalla Avenue from becoming just one lane each way.

  1. Call our city government every day.  You have to call every day, then get up the next day and call again.
  2. You have to convince other people to call the city government every day.   Please tell your friends and neighbors.  Write down the phone numbers below, make copies, and hand them out.
  3. Then, call the city government every day.

City council's worst nightmare is for citizen's to find out about this decision before they can permanently narrow Molalla Avenue.  So spread the word, and commit people to calling the city government every day.

Note:  The city will tell you how "proper" business owners were "properly" notified, how the city council meetings have already taken place, and how the decision is already made.  The truth is, it's just a city council decision, and decisions can be reversed.  This is especially true considering the secrecy in this case.  They will reverse their decision once enough citizens find out.

I've spoken with nearly a dozen business owners along Molalla Avenue.  Not one of them remembers receiving such a notification from the city.  Not one of them.  Even those who own the property where their business is located, say the city never notified them of the proposed changes.

Warning:  The strategy of our city government is to transfer you to someone who never answers the phone.  After you get the answering machine, hang up, call again, and demand to talk to a real person.  After your third or fourth attempt, tell them how tired you are of being put on hold.
